Asymptotic-Preserving numerical methods. Application to low Mach flows and non-Brownian suspensions

Asymptotic-Preserving numerical methods are able to reproduce at the discrete level the asymptotic behaviour satisfied by continuous equations. This allows to compute accurate approximations even when the perturbation parameter has very different orders of magnitude. Two applications will be presented : (1) low Mach flows governed by the gas dynamics equations (2) macroscopic suspensions of rigid particles suspended in a Newtonian fluid governed by the Stokes equations.
