Level set-based topology optimization method using a reaction diffusion equation and its applications

This talk presents that level set-based topology optimization in which the level set function is updated using a reaction diffusion equation. This method is different form traditional level set-based approaches using Hamilton-Jacobi equation when updating the level set function. With this proposed method, adjusting the regularization parameter can control the geometrical complexity of the obtained configuration. Additionally, the several applications of the proposed method are presented such as thermal problems, fluid dynamics problems and acoustic problems.
